Rifle Team Defeats USC
Jerry Crowe and William McMillan continued to set a hot pace, leading Parris Island's indoor rifle team to a 1892 — 1813 victory over the University of South Carolina this week.
Crowe bettered his previous high score by two points, shooting 383 out of a possible 400.
McMillan, the U.S. International and Olympic team shooter posted a 380.
Jesse Davenport and Al Estes shot 377 for the second consecutive time to tie for third place for Parris Island.
Arthur Snyder rounded out the top five, posting a 375 score.
The Marines are slated to fire a return match with Georgia Tech here Saturday, in what probably will be the final match of the season.
Parris Island edged Tech 1898 to 1824 in Atlanta in January, led by McMillan's ? 386.
