Championship Pistol Matches Start Saturday

The MCS Fall Annual Pistol Championship Matches will be held at the MCS Pistol Range this weekend, with firing on both Saturday and Sunday schedule to begin at 8 a.m.

Close to 200 top military pistol shooters from the East Coast are expected to enter the team and individual matches.

Some members of the Marine Marksmanship Training Unit pistol team will also fire in the competition. These shooters are part of the unit that is being transferred to MCS for duty.

Among the leading pistol shots who will be absent from the firing line during the two-day event is Capt. William McMillan, world renowed pistol champion, who is currently firing at Fort Benning, Ga., in the tryouts for the Internationall team which will represent this country in Egypt later this year.
