Small Bore, Pistol Teams Defeat NROTC

Parris Island's small bore and pistol teams captured their second victories of the season when they easily topped teams from teh Citadel last Friday night at the rifle range.

The small bore squad, which previous had taken the measure of a team from the University of South Carolina, beat the NROTC team from the Citadel by nearly 100 points.

DAVENPORTS TOPS

TSgt. Jesse Davenport and 2d Lt. William McMillan were the "big guns" in the Island victory. TSgt Davenport fired 382 out of a possible 400 in the small bore contest. He was followed by Lt. McMillan who hit 376.

WIN PISTOL MATCHES

In the pistol matches, Parris Island won even easier. The team with Lt. McMillan paving the way, beat the college shooters by more than 200 points. Lt. McMillan hit 291 out of a possible 300.
